Group Founder and Administrator

Roxanne most recently hails from Houston, Texas but has also lived in Argentina, Australia and ten states within the U.S. (some multiple times), including Alaska. She lived in the West Bay area of Doha with her husband, son Patrick and daughter Lulu for three years. She loves nothing more than welcoming new families to Doha at the New Arrivals Coffees and can see the positive side of just about anything. In her former life she was a litigation consultant, a Certified Public Accountant and a truck driver.

Events Manager

Originally from Australia, Sarah has lived in the UK and America. This is her first time living in the Gulf. She has settled in West Bay with her husband David and two daughters -- ten-year old Lucinda and eight-year old Phoebe. A graduate of the Intercontinental Hotel School, she has over fifteen years of experience in public relations & special events. Sarah organizes countless events for the group and manages the Deals Card.

Publishing Manager

With Dutch and Danish roots, Doha has been Paulien's home for more than a dozen years. Both her children Antonio (8) and Katalina (6) were born here. Paulien has over 15 years experience in Marketing and Advertising and is the Publishing Manager of the Doha Family Guide.

Graphic Designer

Gemma moved to Doha in 2010 when her daughter was just two months old. She now has two young children Eva and Ben. Having worked as a graphic designer in the UK and Qatar for 11 years her love of design continues to grow as opportunities to work on projects of all sizes are given to her. Gemma loves spending time outdoors with her family, and takes the opportunity to travel whilst living in Qatar. She encourages her children to have imagination and embrace the truly multicultural environment they live in.

Hiba is originally from Egypt but lived and worked in several Middle Eastern and North African countries before settling in Doha with her husband and two boys, aged nine and eight. (Her kids have the coolest names on earth - just ask her!) In her former life she worked for over 10 years for the Special Olympics, a global organization that advocates the rights of individuals with intellectual disabilities; she has also worked as an accountant and a martial arts coach. Currently the Doha Mums Membership Manager, Hiba also hosted the New & Expectant Mums Coffee and the New Arrivals Coffee for several years.

Originally Lebanese, Ghida grew up in Sudan and then moved London where she worked as an Interior Designer. She then decided to become a teacher and has taught in London schools and in a nursery in Qatar. Currently she is the hostess for the New Arrivals Mums Night Out.

Mums Night Out Coordinator

Randa is Syrian but was born in and lived in Lebanon for many years. She worked as a pharmacist and as a pharmaceutical sales representative for ten years. Now Randa is a stay-at-home mum and is challenging herself to get her MBA degree while also taking care of her four-year old daughter. She hosted the Tuesday New Arrivals Coffee for several years and now organizes the Mums Night Out dinners.

Borrow Programme Coordinator

Hailing from Stonehaven, Scotland, Gail moved to Glasgow for university where she stayed for more than a decade. A year’s backpacking after university involved a 27-hour train journey from Hong Kong to Beijing, walking along the Great Wall of China, scuba diving, a bungee jump & a skydive — among many other adventures. Prior to leaving the UK, Gail worked in International Student Recruitment which had the added benefit of indulging her love of travel. In Doha since November 2011, she is currently a stay at home mum.

Children's Library & Borrow Programme

Rema was born and raised in the U.S. to a Palestinian father and a Dutch-American mother. She has been in Doha since the summer of 2012, with her husband and two daughters whom are home-schooled. She considers herself a professional volunteer and keeps busy in various community projects. She is a coordinator for the Doha Mums Children's Library and the Borrow Programme and also hosts various playgroups and events throughout the year.

New Arrivals Coffee at Landmark Mall

Marcella left Ireland for Dubai in 1992 and has never looked back. She soon met her South African husband and adopted two beautiful children from Ethiopia. In October 2012 she and her family moved from Dubai to Doha and started what has become the next chapter in their lives. She joined Doha Mums during the transit from Dubai to Doha and was warmly welcomed (and very thankful) for the various activities offered by Doha Mums. Marcella enjoys hosting a New Arrivals event as it gives other other mums a chance to find their feet in Qatar. She loves travelling, baking celebration cakes and spending time with family and friends.

Saturday Park Playgroup & Children's Library

Nicole is from Lebanon, born in Kuwait, raised in Saudi Arabia and earned her BA in Graphic Design in Lebanon. She has lived and worked in Doha since 2007 and has been a Doha Mums member since 2008. Nicole has one beautiful daughter, Gabrielle, who is one of the top students in her grade at the Lebanese School of Qatar. She is an active International Toastmaster member and is part of its Executive Committee at Aspire Toastmaster Club in Doha. Nicole volunteers whenever possible to set a good example for her daughter. She volunteers at the Doha Mums Children's Library as part of its organizational team and coordinates the Dahl al Hamam Saturday Park Playgroup during the cooler months.

New & Expectant Mums Coffee at Hyatt Plaza

Patience is originally from Nigeria and is a mother of two young adults. She moved to Doha with her husband and daughter in 2008. Patience is a trained nurse/midwife/lactation consultant who worked in Al-Ahli hospital for five years before retiring. It took her a while to adjust to the desert but it's been a pleasant experience. Joining Doha Mums in 2014, she now serves as a volunteer for the New and Expectant Mums Coffee. Patience also loves reading, gardening and knitting.

Event Volunteer & Doha Mums Children's Library

Tanya is originally from Vancouver, Canada. She has lived in Northern Canada, the UK, Germany, and Dubai. Tanya and her family (her two boys and her husband) have made Qatar their home for the past six years. Tanya is a Music teacher, Instructional Evaluator and Education Consultant. Tanya enjoys cooking, gardening and doing outdoor activities with her boys. Tanya believes that there are so many different opportunities and people in Doha and it’s just a matter of finding the right group of people to connect with that make it comfortable and successful.

Doha Mums Childrens' Library Coordinator

Sarah arrived in Doha in May 2015, and was overwhelmed by a drastic difference in temperature from her previous home, Denmark! There she worked as a financial controller before her daughter, Hanne, came along. Sarah started volunteering at the library in September, and became a managing co-ordinator in December. She is very passionate about the library, and spends many a day there, stickering books and making plans that may be implemented one day- if only we had more volunteers!

Editor, Doha Family Guide

In 2008, Rachel left Chicago and hopped a plane to join her husband in Qatar. They are happily settled in Al Rayyan with their goofy daughter, Kai and a small menagerie of pets. Rachel’s background consists of a mix of writing, editing, photography, design and production. She thinks Japan is the best place for a family vacation, but seeing as she is half Japanese, she may be biased. Rachel also has strong opinions about deep-dish pizza and the Oxford comma.

Nursery Guide Manager and Executive Coordinator

Fouzia arrived in Doha with her husband and daughter, Amani, in 2013. Shortly after arriving she had her second daughter, Dalia. Before moving to Doha, Fouzia owned a small online business in London and while she hold’s a Masters in Science she soon realized that Marketing and Administration is what she enjoys best. Fouzia is now the Doha Mums Nursery Guide Manager and Executive coordinator.
