About our Library
The Doha Mums Children’s Library is the first and largest non-school children’s library in Qatar, offering more than 8,000 titles
for children aged birth to young teens in our fully-catalogued collection.
Fans of early literacy will be thrilled with the options, where members can choose from board books for toddlers, quality storybooks for emerging readers and early reader books to suit any interest. More advanced readers will enjoy the chapter books and other topic-specific titles.
Recognizing that parenting isn’t always easy, the Doha Mums Children’s Library supports families with hundreds of children’s books that address common childhood issues. Whether it’s the arrival of a new sibling, bullying, hurt feelings, the loss of a pet or loved one, moving house, starting school or most anything else - our library has a book to help guide your child through it.
Our growing section of non-English titles contains books in Arabic, Spanish, French, Dutch, Korean and other languages. Books on pregnancy, ADHD, autism and other childhood development topics are also available for parents.
Visit our online catalogue
and peruse the collection by title, author or subject. Give it a try - search for “Ramadan”, “Julia Donaldson”, “trains” or your own child’s favorite book or topic. (You’ll quickly realize that this isn’t your average “club library”!)
The Doha Mums Children’s Library is proud to partner with SFQ Sports Academy - visit their website to learn more about their sports and educational programmes!
Join the Library
The Library is limited to members of Doha Mums and cannot be used as a "first event" for joining purposes. Joining Doha Mums is easy, though, and we welcome mums of all nationalities - you can visit our FAQ page to learn more about joining Doha Mums.
How you can help
The Doha Mums Children's Library is always accepting book donations, so if you are leaving the country or if your children have simply outgrown their books please let us know! If you are moving to Qatar from the U.S., the U.K. or Canada and have room in your container for books, supplies or even furniture please contact us. We are also looking for dependable volunteers to assist us in running the library sessions as well as "storytime readers" who enjoy reading to small groups of children; high school volunteers and empty-nesters are perfect for the storytime reader roles!
