Size of classes & number of teachers: "Homeroom" groups are "peer group" classes at Fun First Nursery.  Although all children develop at different rates, no one can expect a broadly similar level of development within a similar age range and the homeroom groups at Fun First Nursery take advantage of this fact.  The teachers are experienced in dealing with children of that specific age group and are able to cater for their specific level of development.  Our adult to child ratio is 1:4 for the toddlers and twos and 1:5 for pre-schoolers.

The Divisions for Homeroom groups are:

Testimonials

My son has grown a lot in confidence while at Fun First Nursery.  At the start I was hesitant to put my son into nursery, but Fun First Nursery has been a safe haven for him and has proven to be a great place for fun and learning at the same time.  They provide a safe and clean environment in which children can truly grow and benefit.  Now my son has moved on to elementary school, and his sister is still enjoying the good care at Fun First Nursery.  It does feel like a family, and when at work I can trust my children are OK!  I truly appreciate the advise and support of staff and even the help in potty training.  Great teachers, great assistants and great learning environment!

Betthilde, mum to two Fun First Nursery students

My son Gabriel has serious multiple allergies and I struggled to find a nursery that didn't feel his case was "too complex for their staff to deal with". At Fun First Nursery they gave me the assurance I needed and have proved their full competence in working with me to settle him in and ensure he is in a safe and happy environment. The general atmosphere is warm and welcoming. Samia and her staff put a lot of effort into arranging a variety of fun events and activities.

Hala, mum of Gabriel (2.5 years)

Our two sons attended Fun First Nursery from January 2008 to November 2009.  We had a good feel for the place from the first time we viewed it and knew immediately it was the nursery for us.  Both boys settled in relatively quickly with the help of the staff who were kind, caring and always there for a cuddle if the children were upset at drop-off in the early days.

The premises is clean and bright and welcoming.  Indoors, all the toys had a place and the children were taught to put things away at the end of play.  Outdoors there were plenty of ride-on toys to keep the children entertained as well as a supervised trampoline, sandpit and waterplay time.

The children quickly learned the ABC song, counting, colours and shapes and were continually encouraged and praised.  The teachers and assistants were very helpful in assisting with potty-training which we believe helped both boys become fully dry at an early age in a short period of time.

Year-round events such as Go Green Week, International Day, trips to the zoo, Halloween, Eid and Christmas parties as well as parent coffee mornings and yard sales were a great opportunity for us as parents to become involved at the nursery and there was always something interesting going on .

Home/school communication is excellent, as well as monthly newsletters and the website.  The owner, Samia, and all the teachers were always available to have a chat to discus our children's progress and offer advice.

We were sad to leave the nursery when we left Qatar but our children still talk about their teachers and the friends that they made there.  We would highly recommend Fun First Nursery to anyone looking to place their child in nursery.  It really did give our boys an excellent start in their education and learning in a safe, fun and happy environment.

Our family is extremely happy with Fun First Nursery! The staff are friendly and professional.  They really seem to love what they do! Additionally, I have been pleased with their emphasis o the children's academic development.  I am confident my daughter will be prepared for pre-kindergarten when she reaches that age.

Judy, mum to Aili (3 years)

I have been working at Fun First Nursery for two years as a teacher and find the job extremely rewarding! Some of the children speak very little or no English at all when they start; after a few months they know lots of songs, colours, shapes, etc. . .in English. Although I had no intention to work when I arrived in Qatar from the U.KK, I am so glad that I took the job at Fun First Nursery. It has been a lot of fun and a wonderful experience to work in an international nursery.
