D’reesha Performing Arts Festival 2022

D’reesha Performing Arts Festival is a pioneering festival that will integrate multiple disciplines, ranging from theatre and poetry to research, education, and technology.

It will explore the nature of performing arts and engage a new generation of innovative artists. A year-round performance lab that aims to engage and empower students will culminate in an annual festival that transforms Education City into an open stage.

This year’s D’reesha Festival returns for its second edition, which will be held during Qatar’s hosting of the FIFA World Cup Qatar 2022™ on days when no matches are being held in Education City. Qatar Foundation intends to enrich the experience of its visitors by introducing them to some of the landmarks of Islamic and Arab culture at this year’s edition of the festival.

Inspired by the travels of the Arab explorer Ibn Battuta touring countries in the Middle East, Africa, Asia, and Europe, the festival will highlight the theme of “Travel and Adventure” through the performing arts, music, poetry, stories, education and research, and many other fields.

Application Details:

• Applications for participation in the D’reesha Performing Arts Festival are open to all and free of charge.
• They welcome applications from both seasoned and amateur artists who would like to make a culturally diverse presentation in the fields of performing arts, education, and research.
• Applications for participation from local and international artists will be accepted.
