Doha: The Agricultural Products and Local Honey Exhibition, organized by the Department of Souq Waqif, in cooperation with the Ministry of Municipality kicked off today at Souq Waqif’s Al Ahmad Square,from Feb. 20 to March 1.
In a statement to Qatar News Agency (QNA) the Director of Souq Waqif, Mohammed Abdullah Al Salem said that the event will serve the producer and the consumer and provide an ideal marketing experience in a tourist attraction that brings together visitors from citizens and residents of different nationalities.
He noted that the prices of the supply of vegetables and local Qatari honey are competitive and suitable to all, under the supervision of the Ministry of Municipality, pointing out that the exhibition comes in support of the Qatari product through a marketing platform to inform the public about the characteristics of Qatari farms of high quality food products, it also introduces local honey-producing companies and provides an opportunity for traders, entrepreneurs and SMEs to display their honey products to the public.
About 70 pavilions, representing many farms and apiaries, are displaying local agricultural products, fresh fruits and honey.
On the support provided by the Department of Waqif Market to local farmers, Al Salem explained that the administration provides continuous support to them through such exhibitions and festivals to market their products in Souq squares.
Souq Waqif administration is keen to adhere to the precautionary measures followed in the country to prevent the spread of the Covid-19, added Al Salem.
